I need the help of a young fellow in the church who did a great deal of IT work when he attended Rhema to show me how to use this program. Supposedly, it has everything I am looking for in translations and commentaries. On my cell phone I have a Bible program called Bible Gateway. The Bible dictionaries are adequate, but I would like to have more translations available and I would like to have better commentaries to reference.

The Greek and Hebrew dictionaries are good-Vines, Strong’s, Brown Driver Hebrew Lexicon, Thayer’s Greek Lexicon. The concordance is very useful to find scriptures.
Overall, PC Study Bible has been a blessing, primarily for copying verses for my messages or for slides for my messages. The commentaries on PC Study Bible are not good, and the translations available are limited.
The program has been good for a number of years, but now it seems there are other programs available that are better. I was very happy with MacSword prior to updating to Snow Leopard and having these problems.I have PC Study Bible 4 on my computer. If you need more info, will gladly supply it. I don't understand any of this, except that I see there is a thread crashing. It still runs on OSX 10.6 (and should on Lion)!īTW: MacUpdate should update to the new icon of Eloquent! If MacSword 1.4.4 stops working I will move on to another bible software.īe warned! Instead of Eloquent load the old MacSword 1.4.4 from their website. I'm not gonna try Eloquent anymore, it's a dead end with no future.
Sometimes it crashes, but it's a nice program. MacSword 1.4.4 is very fast even with dozens of bibles and commentaries installed. In comparison to MacSword 1.4.4 which I still use Eloquent 2.3.5 is pure junk. Try search! Unbelievable slooow, even when it grabs the power of both CPU cores shortly before the beach ball of death comes. Version 2.3.5 is still massively bug ridden, extremely slow even if you only have the standard KJV bible installed and nothing else. The new icon of the program is extremely ugly. Who is making decisions in programming of this software? It's really going downhill! The new name "Eloquent" instead of the nice old MacSword is plain ugly and without any biblical meaning.
