Not sure if this is a fix for all, but I've got my old copy of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro working on Windows Virtual PC (XP Mode) running on Win 7 Pro 64x. Its slow (because of limited ram in virtual machine) but it works. Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro is definitely not compatible with Win 8, 8.1 or 10 Technical release (32-bit versions).
